Family Mart #4: Tiramisu Parfait (Rm 5.97)

Disclaimer! : So in this post, I’m going to review the Tiramisu Parfait, if that was not obvious enough. I might be a little biased or harsh on this review, but please bear with me. This is one of my favourite cakes due to its lightness, and coy abilities. Although the Tiramisu is one of the most well-known and easily accessible Italian dessert, however it is (like many other well-known Italian desserts) a very recent tradition. The first Tiramisu was concocted in the 1960s making is a 20 th century creation. Legend has it that the owner of the restaurant “Le Beccherie”, Roberto Linguanotto, first made it in 1969, but of course the debate for originality continues! This restaurant, the MVP and OG in the Tiramisu game, is still open for business! Located in Treviso, which is in the Veneto region of North-eastern Italy. Veneto’s capital is the all too popular, Venice. I am so not surprised that such a wonderful dessert comes from such a romantic backg

Family Mart #3: The Chocolate Mousse (RM 5.97)

Lately I’ve been binge watching Japanese shows on Netflix, namely ‘Restaurant to another world’, Midnight Stories : Tokyo Diner, and Kantaro: The sweet tooth salaryman. The latter has become a bit of an obsession of mine, the protagonist is very relatable in many ways to the average salaryman worldwide. We all have some sort of secret we’re harbouring about what we like or how we act around people whom we’re not comfortable with. However, my latest hobby does not help with my diet as I watch Kantaro devour sweet after sweets, dessert after dessert, my sweet tooth has started to ache. My solution? Family Mart Dessert lah! Here is my first dessert review ! Appearance The Chocolate Mousse is not at all eye catching unlike its friend the dark chocolate mousse. It has a monotone colour throughout except for the white chocolate block on top and a thin layer of sponge cake on the bottom. However, it does look luscious and luxurious in its simplicity. Like a beautiful flower,

Family Mart #2 : Chicken Teriyaki and Egg Sandwich (RM5.50)

You might be thinking “hmm, is she for real?” Wasting her life by writing reviews about convenience store food. But fret not! It is my life, and you don’t have to worry it! Plus, someone needs to review them! How else would you know what you need to get from your neighbourhood Family Mart (7/11 in the future?). So today, we’re eating the Chicken Teriyaki and Egg Sandwich! The sandwich consists of two parts, the Teriyaki Sandwich, and the egg sandwich. Being a fickle person myself and not being able to decide on food a lot, makes this a wonderful sandwich choice for people like me. You can have the fillingness and fulfilment of a chicken sandwich, and a creamy but refreshing egg sandwich. Appearances Anyone whom has watched even a little bit of any anime with food in it, will agree that the Japanese know how to make things, especially food look good. Take for example the bacon and eggs in ‘Howls Moving Castle’, it’s so simple but that shit is mouth-watering! Japanese bran

Family Mart #1 : Chicken Parmesan Slice

I don’t normally do food reviews but since I wrote a list of things I want to do/achieve before I turn 24, I thought it would be a good idea. One of the things on my list is to try all the fresh foods/pastries that Family Mart (A Japanese convenience store recently started opening chains in Malaysia) has to offer. Might as well write a review on them! First off, the chicken Parmesan Slice! I chose this bun to be the first because it’s simple and is offered in a lot of other bakeries. Thus, it is easier to evaluate since I’d have some points of reference. Appearance On the outside, it looks extremely delicious! Has a good colour tone; that golden cheese top that indicates the sprinkles of parmesan, the light brown colour of the rest of the bun, and best of all the overflowing chicken slices protruding from its sides. It makes for a mouth-watering glance. The plastic wrap that comes with it is easily opened from the top, adding to the convenience of eating it. The bun is p
